A gorgeous weekend awaits! With temperatures in the 80s and humidity low, the summer beckons to be enjoyed. Halfway through and many are itching for something a little different, a day trip perhaps, but not too far, and some place with enough to occupy a few hours of time.
Many of you are familiar with the charming town of Mystic, with its famous seaport and aquariums, but have you ever ventured into the downtown area with its delightful shops, galleries and restaurants? For those looking for a quick little adventure without the kids, I highly recommend this wonderful little seaside town.
Those of us of a certain age will fondly remember the movie Mystic Pizza, the romantic coming of age movie starring Julia Roberts. The film was inspired by the restaurant that still stands proudly at the top of Main Street.
Across the street is one of my favorite bookstores and book lovers absolutely must pop in to Bank Square Books.
